Jazz: Cecile McLorin Salvant

Today I heard a most beautiful sound coming from my radio… once again NPR Music was the culprit. I immediately fell in love. To be sure, I am already in love with Jazz, so my heart proved an easy target, but the speed with which it melted was something to behold nonetheless.

First thing to note about these artists? They’re young. I mention this, not because it’s relevant… but it is… but it’s not. The second? Who cares! They are beautiful together! The interview with Audie Cornish was enough to make sure, as soon as I was able, I’d look the duet up.

Cecile McLorin Salvant‘s voice, along with pianist Aaron Diehl, make the album WomanChild a Jazz lover’s delight. Smooth and intoxicating, you imagine yourself participating in the journey.  Click… listen… enjoy… you can thank me later.
